I was quite annoyed by these elder plants (Zevenblad) in my garden. If you don't watch out, they take over the complete garden. But I read that you can eat them as well. They are brought here by the ancient Romans to serve as food for their soldiers.
So I'm not only trying to dig their roots out any more. After carefully picking the leaves and washing them today, I turned them into a salad! It tasted quite good, although the leaves are a bit hard-bitten. Tomorrow I'll put them in a canelloni-pasta dish.
